The body of the winch is waterproof.But we don't recommend using it in water.If necessary, a winch cover may be used.

Will it fit into a jeep jku using the oem steel front bumper?

Winches are designed to be universal. What isn't universal is the mount you need to purchase for your specific vehicle. The winch will then mount to that part. Any winch designed for vehicles will fit in the mount.
